Are you tired of humanity getting its butt kicked by every slimy multi-toothed alien that comes along? Well then Mamluk is what you've been waiting for. A military sci-fi story in the tradition of Robert A. Heinlein and David Drake, Mamluk explores a new concept; that humanity is the biggest, baddest, meanest alien in the galaxy. There's only one problem. All of humanity has been enslaved and are now the military wing of the Savant, a far reaching alien empire. Taking their name from the Mamluk, warrior slaves of the Middle Ages back on Earth, humanity has excelled in its role and with the aggressive humans as their warrior slaves, the Savant rule supreme in the galaxy.
Even though the Mamluk have never been defeated, piracy still plagues the galaxy. Ragtag bands of soldiers, leftovers from the many armies defeated by the Mamluk, roam the spaceways looking for prey. Recently these small groups have become more organized, threatening even the most well armed ships and convoys. Civilians across the galaxy are calling for the defeat of the pirates but they are not so easy to find and remain a thorn in the side of the Empire.
Mamluk is full on military sci-fi action combined with a dramatic tale of mystery, honor and dark betrayal. So, if you like fleet battles against pirates, ground forces going tank to tank, or commando units slogging through swamps, then Mamluk is for you.
